A chocolate square or bar that is cooked flat and prepared from either melted chocolate or cocoa powder is called a brownie. The texture of a brownie is in between that of a cake and that of a cookie. There are many different variations of the brownie. They can have a cake-like texture or a fudgy texture, depending on their density, and they may contain chocolate chips, nuts, whipped cream, frosting, or a combination of these and other ingredients. Brownies are a delicious baked good that originated in the United States and are now widely consumed in that country as well as in Canada.
