Cake Mania is a series of time management and cooking simulation video games in which players assume the role of a baker, attempting to fulfill customer orders and progress through the game's levels while simultaneously managing the game's many materials and ovens. The player assumes the character of Jill, a young baker who is tasked with baking and decorating cakes in order to satisfy the requests of customers. The player is responsible for managing the kitchen, the ingredients, and the ovens in order to produce the cakes in the most efficient and exact manner possible.
The objectives of the game are to keep the clients happy, make money, and progress to higher levels. As the player advances through the game's stages, they will acquire access to additional customers, as well as new pieces of cooking equipment and recipes. The gameplay is based on time management, and it challenges players to multitask and make snap judgments in order to keep the clients satisfied.
