Donuts, sometimes known as doughnuts, are a popular type of sweet treat and breakfast dish in North America and other parts of the world. Donuts can be cooked in a number of different ways. The traditional doughnut includes a hole in the middle, which promotes more even cooking, and is covered in a glaze that is either made of sugar or honey, making it delicious. The majority of the time, filled doughnuts do not have a hole in the center of the pastry. These days, doughnuts are available in dozens of different variations, some of which are filled with jelly or cream and possibly topped with a variety of icings, glazes, and sprinkles.
